MC2.1KW 1-Channel Solid State Amplifier Industrial Design 2022-2024

This was our mood board for the MC2.1KW. We took inspiration from a number of previous design explorations along with cars, and architecture.

The unique architecture of the MC2.1KW encompasses three chassis'. Unlike any other mono amplifier the MC2KW and MC2.1KW have two power modules that feed 2000 watts into the output module which has a total of eighteen power terminals; allowing customers the full range of options when it comes to power. 

This unit is the star of the McIntosh 75th anniversary lineup, the company has been around since 1949 and has had the opportunity to partner with artists and audiophiles around the globe. In the summer of '69 amplifiers were loaded onto a helicopter and flown 60 miles east of the factory to power Woodstock.
